Wii screen shots- Smash bros, brawl?

Question

when you take a screen shot in super smash brothers brawl t give you the option to save it to an SD card or to the wii console. i saved some to and sd card, thinking i could then upload it onto my computer....but when i open the file they are all in binary... is there any way to convert (i dont think so...?) ...or a different way for me to get my screenshots?
