My dad won't let me set up wi-fi on my wii because he is not comfortable with the security of if it. My wi-fi game is MXVs. ATV Untamed. Are you able to talk to people on it? Would people be able to use foul language? I'm not talking only about that game but all the other games. If you know any games that you can talk to each other on please list them with any other information about the game play of Wii wi-fi This info will alow me to play on wi-fi or not! Thanks!

  1. I doubt it, although I haven't played those games yet. Nintendo is making a peripheal called Wii Speak. Once it is made you can, with games made to work with it, but I don't think the games that are currently out can have you talk to other people and vice versa.

Security would probably be fine, and there is nothing trackable from a game, if your dad is worried about that sort of thing.

  2. To my knowledge, there is no game (yet) that has real-time voice chat on the Wii.

Wii Speak, as previously mentioned, will allow for this but on a "room to room" level, not a person to person level.

So if you're Dad's afraid that you may be hearing swearing, etc. he can hear everything that goes on this way.  I think it's a good "Nintendo" voice chat solution.  but not sure how many games this will be available for.  Nintendo's got a habit of making peripherals for a game that's never used again (Rob the Robot, N64 memory expansion, Wii Balance Board, etc.)

  3. I'm not really sure what his concern can be as far as "security" goes.  You're just connecting a video game system to the internet.  He has nothing to be worried about.
