Wii startup/language help?

Okay, so we just got a wii and in the very first part when it says choose a language, we can't get past that. We've tried everything. Any help?

well my friend had this problem with her wii, here are my ideas

1. look up a repair place for wiis,and send it off there

2. restart everything, & blow in the disc area ( to get the dust out)

if any of those don't work,

take it back to the store where you bought it, if you bought it at Wal Mart, make sure you have everything for it & the receipt  make sure it hasn't been out of the store for 30 days or they won't take it back
