Wiimote defective maybe?

Question

my wii controller is messed up when i point it at the screen it shows the pointer a foot below where i put it

any ideas on how to fix it

also it was like this since i got the wii

There is a setting on the wii that might help. Is your sensor bar above or below the TV? Find this out then go into the settings part and go to the place where it says sensor bar. It will have two settings. One says above the tv, and one says below the tv. Choose the appropriate one and see if that helps.

Change the settings so that the wii "knows" if your sensor bar is above or below the TV depending on where it really is. Also, I think it's possible to callibrate the sensors in the settings. Make sure the sensor bar is dead straight and you are directly in front of it.
