Wil shops be open on bank holiday friday and monday??

yeah the bigger ones certainly will be. I work at a distribution centre for a well-known home and garden tat store and I'm working both days sending stuff out to the shops, so our shops are definitely open.

Yes - most of the high street stores always are - it's the smaller ones that tend to close.

most of the shops in our town are open but are not open normal hrs, most look like they'll be Sunady opening hrs

Yes they will.  It will be the same hours as on a Sunday - 10 till 4 or 11 till 5.
