Wild Coco confident to win Ishares Fillies’ Stakes (Registered As The Lillie Langtry Stakes) (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares)
The legendary trainer Sir Henry Cecil’s chestnut filly, Wild Coco, looks to be quite confident to claim first position in the 12-runner race of the Ishares Fillies’ Stakes (Registered As The Lillie Langtry Stakes) (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares) that will be
held at Goodwood racecourse on Thursday, August 2.
A good track of 1 mile and 6 furlongs is ready for the race. The four-year-old novice runner is well-familiar with the race conditions; thus, she will take little time to adjust to the ground.
The brilliant daughter of Shirocco out of Wild Side started her career on May 12, 2011, finishing as the runner-up in the Simon Gibson Maiden Stakes at Newmarket.
The fantastic filly moved on to break her maiden in the PHS Datashred Maiden Stakes, held at Haydock track on June 8. She was the 4-5 favourite for that event.
The Gestut Rottgen owned young and energetic sprinter elegantly accomplished a grand victory in the Newsells Park Stud Stakes (Registered As The Aphrodite Stakes) (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) at Newmarket on July 16.
These two back-to-back triumphs exposed the filly’s skills and capabilities well, and she finished 5th in her maiden outing at Goodwood on July 28. That was the I-Shares Fillies’ Stakes (Registered As The Lillie Langtry Stakes) (Group 3) (Fillies
& Mares).
At the moment, Wild Coco is carrying a fighting spirit that will lend a great hand to him in the coming contest. However, Midnight Soprano seems to be the biggest threat for her.
The P. D. Deegan trained bay mare has won 6 of her total 11 starts so far. The five-year-old maverick mare marvellously won five high-profile races in a row from October 19, 2011 to June 8, 2012.
The talented daughter of Celtic Swing out of Midnight Glimmer finished as the runner-up at Curragh on July 1.
In this situation, a fierce battle is expected between Midnight Soprano and Wild Coco----the former will have to apply utmost firepower to thrive. Only a slight mistake can deprive the filly of success.
A huge crowd will move to the venue to enjoy the live action. Good luck to all the contestants.
