  1. Try some exotic animal. As a kindergarten teacher, the kids want to hear about animals other than one they are used to seeing. If you have a local Zoo think about some animals that are there and use those.  The cartoon Madagascar is an excellent way to find out about some of the animals the kids might be interested in. Let them tell you..

Try and  think of animals that have many stories written about them.

  2. Divide the animals up into different parts.  I don't mean hack them.  I mean:

    Amphibians

    Birds

    Fish

    Reptiles

    Mammals

    Arthropods

You can teach them about classifying animals and vertebrates / invertebrates.

This will make it easier to know which animals to use for which material.

  3. no raccoons, possum or anything that could harm the children accidentally.  Snakes would be fine completely entrapped inside an aquarium or jar - farm animals need to be caged or leashed - just think safety first.

  4. farm animals

    chicken, cow, horse, pig,ect.

  5. you want picture or ideas or live animals????

  6. Think about animals in the zoo. Use pictures or books, including a picture encyclopedia talk to the children about where they live in the wild. Let them draw illustrations where they might live in the jungle or forest. Find out what kind of food they eat and where do they get there food and water.

  7. the usual! cats, dogs, chickens, cows, pigs, goats, lambs, horses, and donkey. =] good luck!
