Wild lizard (gecko or skink)

my moms friend found a lizard at her work she works at a plant place i was wondering what lizard it might be she works in michagan in the lower peninsula actually in lansing

Well Skinks usually have scales you can see, especially on their heads.  geckos are soft and and have very fine scales.  Also geckos can vocalize and have pads on their feet that enable them to climb walls, so if you see it participating in behavior like that it is definitely a gecko.

it may be a salamander. the only native lizard is the 5 lined skink.
