Wilderness Researcher?

i'm interested in having a career working in the wilderness, like as a researcher or something to that affect. but i don't know what to pursue or how to, can anyone give me a good idea or point me in the right direction please.

  1. Check out Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado...

    I am assuming the type of wilderness you crave is the Rocky Mountain kind.


  2. You'll need to go to college/university and take environmental science, then do post graduate study, maybe a PHD. That will get you some contacts who will help you get a job doing research in the wilderness.

    If you are happy to settle for commercial research you probably wouldn't need to do postgraduate study, and could just do your basic environemntal science degree.

    Jobs in this field are hard to come by, try to get good marks.
