Wildlife conservation??

Question

Will I be able to work in a zoo, sanctuary, wildlife rehab center, etc. as an animal care specialist with a degree in wildlife conservation?

YES.  If you study Wildlife you will get the basics on zoology and biology and all the good stuff. You will be ready for an entry job at a zoo, or a rehab center.

Yep,  I'm going to school for the same thing.  You don't HAVE to be a game warden afterward.  In fact, I'll probably work for a private environmental consulting agency.

Yes...I also think this degree would qualify you to work as a Field Biologist as well.

Yes you will. I have volunteered at the local zoo as a docent, and several of the keepers have degrees in zoology or biology (which can be be very similar to wildlife conservation). The important thing is that you are taking the right courses.

I would recommend volunteering at your local zoo, and/or working as an intern in the field you are interested in. Never underestimate on the job experience!

A degree in wildlife conservation makes sense for what you want to do. Isn't the goal of zoos and sanctuaries primarily conservation?

I agree with some of the others, a major in biology and a minor in wildlife management would almost guarantee any of those positions, where just a wildlife degree would limit it.

I would say probably not... don't you need some sort of vet's schooling to actually care for animals?  You could start as a volunteer at a rehab center and see what it actually takes.
