I am looking for a short paragraph on wildlife habitats in India.

But I am not looking for what animals they have, but the habits itself.

  1. As for your question, you can get a lot of information regarding wildlife habitats on the internet itself. But to sum it up, India still has a broad range of diverse habitats sustaining wildlife. Going top-down they range from large deserts, deciduous forests, ravines to wetlands and lush, green forests. The North-east region is beautiful with mighty mountains and rivers that hold good for a rich faunal diversity. Central India is more of a plateau with some thick deciduous forests and grasslands (of course not the true grasslands, but more of herbaceous vegetation). The Western ghats and the southern region have mixed deciduous and rain forests that are mighty thick and harbor great biodiversity. We also have some evergreens. South India being a peninsula we also have a big shoreline (marine ecosystem) and some good mangroves. Such diversity of habitats leads to good flora and fauna and faunal diversity too.
