Former Aston Villa left back Wilfred Bouma has offered advice for new signings and Dutch league imports http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697. Bouma has urged the signings to show ‘Dutch courage’ in order to succeed in the Premier League.
Bouma has backed all three summer signings and had told them to be mentally and physically strong in order to cope with the quicker and much faster tempo of the Premier League. He also stressed on the need for courage to deal with the physical nature of
the English top flight.
The Dutch left back has come up against all the three players on a number of occasions in the Dutch Eredivisie. Bouma, who now plays at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven, believes that the most arduous task for all three players will be adapting to the frantic pace and demanding
nature of English football.
"The only advice I can give them is to try and cope as quick as possible with the tempo because it is 90 minutes at a high tempo," said Bouma.
"Sometimes in the Dutch league you can take a little breather but that won't happen in the Premier League. So your mindset has to be right. You always have to be focused."
The former Villa player is well aware of all the strengths and qualities of Villa’s new signings, but rates Karim El-Ahmadi as the finest signing of the lot. He rates ex http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 duo El-Ahmadi and Vlaar very highly, especially after the season they’ve just
had in the Eredivisie. Both players lead Feyenoord towards Champions League qualification and have now linked up at Villa Park.
Speaking about both players, Bouma said:
"El Ahmadi - I think he was one of the best players in the Dutch league. He is a really, really good player and I think he is going to do really well as well. Ron and Karim were huge for Feyenoord in helping them reach the Champions League. They both had
really good seasons and that is why they can make the big step to Villa.”
New manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert wants to implement an attacking football approach at Villa, and has used this Dutch 'revolution' to bring about these changes as he looks to take the team towards a top-half finish on the league table.
