  1. It's certainly been done before, but it's usually the right conditions

  2. Depends on what they are. Onions and lettuce have short shelf lives of under 2 years but bean seed can stay alive for over 50 years. And there are always exceptions to the rule. The only way to find out is to plant them and see what comes up.

That said, I would not depend on these seeds for a garden because germination likely will be low and spotty.

  3. no they are too old.

  4. They should.

  5. nothing ventured nothing gained - you've got nothing to lose

  6. Probably.  There are some seeds that can readily germinate after 100 years.

  7. No, they are usually not good after 5 years :< The viablility of the seeds depends on how hard the seed coat (outer covering) is. Here's a link to tell you what seeds are good for up to 5 years :)

    Good Luck ^^

  8. it's possible...the whole point of seeds is to travers difficulty to flourish. you should plant them with love and see if they grow. it'd be a neat study.

  9. Some seeds that have been properly stored have a recommended life of five years depending on the particular vegetable.  Ten years is probably pushing it to expect very many viable seeds but what do you have to lose by planting them?
