  1. 8 gauge would be better

  2. Generally the heavier the gauge of wire the better (less resistance),but it also depends on the quality of the speaker wire itself. Believe it or not,Radio Shack has pretty decent quality speaker wire. Keep your runs as short as possible and keep all of them the same length, regardless of speaker placement.

  3. 16 guage will be ok I would probably us 14 awg, 8 awg speaker wire might be a little hard to work with, I am not sure I have seen that but then I don't know.  You are just trying to reduce the amount of resistance the amplifier encounter supplying power to the sub, unless the run from the amp to the sub is like 10' or more 16 will work fine.  If that is all you have I would not make a trip to buy a different size I would use it.

  4. Use at least 12 gauge streetwires high strand count wire. 16 gauge should ONLY be used for a remote wire to an amp.

  5. it would work but... your not going to get all of the subs potential sound.

  6. it would work but you wouldnt be getting the best sound you should probably use like 8 gauge atleast
