Will 2 12" subs hot harder in a sealed or ported box ??

really i want to know is will the two kicker l5's be loulder....

were u can be heard around the block when the sub hots low notes

sealed or ported ??

  1. If you want people to "hear you comin"......"PORTED"...no questions asked, moves more air, and more bass, and get twice as loud.

  2. sealed will be more accurate, but ported will be rattle more give you more of the "thump" hiphop and rap is better ported but if you listen to fast music like rock or something use a sealed.

  3. well if you want to no the difference. ported boxes are louder because they don't impede the movement of the speaker like the sealed boxes do also with ported boxes the sound energy that comes off the back of the sub is not trapped in the box its funneled out the port so the sound is allot louder and hits harder. But the sound is sloppier and its not as tight as a sealed box. what i would suggest is to buy or build a comp box. they ar sealed and ported the back is sealed and the front is ported and the slots are tuned to the frequency of the sub to get the best of both types of boxes.
