I have an Acer 5920 with a built in wireless modem (3945/a/b/g). I also have a wireless-g network adapter from my old computer. I have them both plugged in currently and their both receiving an internet connection from the same network (linksys).

Im wondering if using both increases my internet speed?

Thank you!!! :)

  1. No it doesn't increase your internet speed, however you can try to make your network a pure G network by configuring the router to only send signal for G,that is if you don't have any b or a wirless card, you might also be able to improve browsing speed by changing dns to Opendns

  2. Nope.  Only one is active at a time as far as signal processing.  Also, the router will only pass data at a set rate.  If you have more that one computer on a router they share the bandwidth output.
