Question:

Will 3.0 L Merc. Pull water skier?

I'm looking to buy a used boat and just wondered if a 18' Rinker with a 3.0 L Merc. engine would be powerful enough to pull a skier smoothly. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Plenty of power


  2. Tons of power, in fact you will have to be careful you don't hurt someone with that power behind you!

  3. 3.0L Merc produce a little over 200hp on an 18 footer should be adequate to pull a 180lbs skier, my 17' with 4.3 Merc inboard is only 190hp it has no problem pulling a skier with the same weight.
