  1. 2 12's are fine!  Why upgrade to 4??  All you are doing is advertising yourself to thieves!!!

  2. Yes, It will hit hard, much harder.

Being that your amp is 1ohm stable you can add the other two speakers and twice the bass. You should get a clean crisp sound, and you shouldn't have any problem cranking up the volume.

You want to make sure you get a powercell or a power cap, to ensure your amp gets all the power it needs to do the job. Having four Subwoofers in a car is probably the best system you can have. Most people want to have trunk space or cant find speakers with a low enough air space to be able to fit into a car. Which brings me to my next point.

Make sure you get a custom box made that will maximize the air space, for you particular car. You also may want to fill the inside of the box with some cotton ( a little trick we used back in the day) to make the speakers thing that the box is bigger then it actually is.

All in all having four twelves in your car will Jam. And you will absolutely fall in love with the sound. You may need to upgrade your mids and highs so your system will be more balanced, and it is well worth it.

Good Luck, and don't get to many noise tickets :)

    Just a note:

In 1995 I had an 88 Monte Carlo with 4 12's and Two 1500watt amps. It hit so hard my back windshield fail out. And I have been addicted to car audio ever since. so be warned, its easy to get hooked.
