Will 4 O Clock Plants Re-Root?

Question

A little boy my sister babysits broke one of my 4 O clocks (Mirabilis jalapa) off so I stuck it back in the dirt. Will it re-root?

IT should re-root ,they are very hardy; if this plant has been flowering this season ;4 o'clocks will multiply.

i doubt it, but it will grow back next season--and the next and the next.

probably not but once you have four-o-clicks you will have them forever since they are tubers and send their shoots underground for more plants.
