Question:

Will A Wooden Door Aclimatize If I Primer It First?

I am installing a wooden, solid-core bathroom door and want to primer it with Killz spray primer. The manufacturer suggests that I bring it into the room for 24 hours before I install it. Because I am using spray primer, I want to spray it outside and THEN bring it in, to aclimatize. Will that still work?

  1. Should be fine...needing to aclimatize is only in extreme temp. conditions.

  2. solid wood doors can shrink as much as 1/4 inch.......my opinion, aclimatize first then paint for you dont want problems down the line.... if manufacture does suggest, i would do as stated -
