I can't remember which year his horse was taken out by a loose one, when he was in the lead. Do you think he'll ever be able to add this great race to his many wins?

  1. i was on clan royal and at aintree that day when he was taken out the race a had a decent bet on him aswell but thats racing your best bet is to follow the market on the day and go with your heart thats what i did when frankie won his first derby your answer is yes AP will win but when ? im not so sure this year..

  2. I'm pretty sure he will. In 2005, his ride 'Clan Royal' was carried out when a loose horse got in his way at Becher's Brook. I remember it well.... that's where my money went!

ps. This year, I'm going for Butler's Cabin.

  3. He probably has a good few yrs riding left in him, but the National only comes around once a year & is the toughest race to win, I`d like to see him win it but cant help thinking it might be the race he will not add to his portfolio.

He will still go into the history books as one of the greats.

  4. Clan Royal was sideswiped by a loose horse when going best of all.  A.P.  may well win it one year as J. P. McManus is always buying good staying horses.   Plenty of top jockeys never managed it though - Francombe, Scudamore, etc.

  5. this year.....dead cert

  6. yep i remember that clan royal running and jumping realy well but was taked out by a lose horse ... i think he still could win a grand national.....

  7. Clan Royal in the 2005 was taken out by the loose horse - I could have cried! Not least cos I stood to wina small fortune!

I hope he will get there one day - but he better get on with it soon!
