A friend of mine said that all cell phones will not work on the West Carribean Carnival cruise ship.

  1. on the carnival celebration my moms cell phone worked and she is through at&t, but they charge a roaming fee sorry i cant remember how much it was a minute i just remember thinking it was not worth it, and since we were going to key west we just waited til we got off the ship in port

  2. First of all it is NOT FIVE DOLLARS A MINTUE.

Second it will work as long as you have a signal, but the further you get out to sea it will not work.

Third you may call up AT&T and add international roaming and a plan. It will be easy to add and remove.

Forth when you are inland or near a port your signal does come back in. I have cruised each year and called home just like I was in the states teasing those who could not make it.

Just have a blast and call home if you like.

  3. I just returned from a Caribbean cruise.  ATT (Cellular One) works fine from ships.  They have some sort of deal with cruise lines.  Anyhow, the catch is the high roaming fee per minute.  Check with your provider to find out exactly how much the roaming fee is when you are in the Caribbean.  I personally did not use my cell phone.  I was on vacation.

  4. Yeah, they'll work for like 5 dollars a minute.  I'd recommend turning your phone off unless you need it for work.
