In a solution of Cl-, SO4 2-, and Ag , would the Ag bond to sulfate over chloride under standard, controlled laboratory conditions?

  1. If you have a solution containing Cl-, SO4^2-, and Ag+, AgCl will precipitate.  Ag2SO4 is somewhat water soluble, but AgCl is pretty insoluble.
