Will Alonso get his seat at Ferrari next season

If so, who will get the push? The flat and unmotivated Kimi or the up & down Massa?

What do you think is going on behind closed doors with Ferrari & Kimi?

  1. I don't think Fernando will be going to Ferrari next year. Despite all the rumors, Kimi will retain his seat at Ferrari for next year and I have a feeling that so will Felipe. Should Fernando go to Ferrari, it won't be until 2010. Right now, rumors are claiming that Fernando has signed a $15 million USD contract for 1 year with Honda, but no one has confirmed nor denied! Fernando has said that he won't make any decisions about his future until the end of the summer (possibly in September). Most likely what will happen is that he will stay in Renault next year before leaving for Ferrari.

  2. No, I don't think he will move to Ferrari next year. My guess is he'll stay with Renault, although there are a lot of Honda rumours going around as well. I can't see him being anywhere then these 2 teams next year though (Red Bull, Toyota and Ferrari look set to keep their line ups).

  3. No, he won't go there next season unless Raikkonen suddenly retires. 2010 is much more likely.

  4. Honda looks favourites with Brawn settin his sights on him.

I think Kimi has just had a bad few weeks, he does dip in every season and then comes back strongly, look at last year.

He got an 8th at monaco, a 5th at canada and a fourth at indianapolis last year. he always has a dip then comes back fighting- he does it on purpose...

  5. i doubt that ferrari will accept him with his record. ferrari are a world championship winning TEAM. with alonso, it's "my way or the highway", and mclaren and hamilton lost out BIG TIME.

ferrari wont want to go through this. so alonso has to change his attitude.

massa probably wont leave, but im not too sure about raikonen. i cant see him staying very long. he might be losing interest.

if heidfeld leaves, BMW sauber will be alonso's best bet.

  6. NO

  7. You know Alonso if he keeps up his past ways will find himself sitting in the stands with is head in his hands whining..."I use to be out there!!!" As far as i am concerned Alonso is nothing more then a self centered, erogant ***. But I see it coming if he comes to Ferrari, no matter when it is, that Massa is gonna get the boot, which is a shame. Massa has it in himself to do much better, he always was sort of in Schumi's shadow and didnt and still doesn't trust himself at times. But through everything Schumi has always helped Massa, mentored him at times. Massa needs to trust his know-how and believe in himself through and through. If he does that then the h**l with Alonso they wont need him in no way shap or form.....

  8. .

Eh? Well I believe that Kimi may well be there...but perhapsyou know better....

  9. I think Massa is progressing into a world champion very quickly now and kimi is set to stay at ferrari til 2010

  10. I don't think so. Massa is signed till 2010 while Kimi's contract only expires at the end of 2009. It is most likely that Ferrari will retain their current driver line-up. Alonso would probably opt to stay with Renault as they are already improving. Kimi really needs to sort out his poor quali performances and make it work. Massa is always inconsistent (as always). Maybe he needs Schumi to come back and challenge him.

Ferrari will no doubt be talking to both their drivers about their performances. With McLaren rising, they are indeed in a very dangerous situation

  11. I hope Kimi and Felipe both leave.  Then Alonso can come in as the #1 driver, with Timo Glock right behind him.

  12. Ross Brawn is looking into him and might sign him, so 2010 is the better option for him. Whether he goes to ferrari is a different story.

  13. My intuition says that alonso would have an brilliant outing with Honda if he joins them in 2009http://formularacin.blogspot.com/2008/08...

Ross Brawn+Alonso+lot of money frm honda into development=gr8 season fr team.....as such Honda has an rich racing history....and it would be gr8 for alonso and honda both if both come together....if 2009 goes really well with Honda....Alonso shifting to ferrari again in 2010 would be one of the worst things he could do....!!!!(he has an hobby of changing teams ....i think till he retires he will atleast be the only driver to have driven for most f-1 teams!!!)....

Dont know about kimi.....i just cant say anything about him....its sure he will be racing in ferrari til 2009....future seems bleak!!!...http://formularacin.blogspot.com/2008/07...

  14. I can and can't see him going to Ferrari. If here were to go there it would be 3 teams in 3 years, not good for consistency. If he thought he had it tough at McLaren when things didn't go his way then he would have to have the patience of a saint for the c**p thrown at Ferrari drivers by the impatient Italian press.

Kimi's general lacklustre performances had been not at all surprising. I should imagine that with his experience in Formula one, he has seen and done it all and is now looking for an alternative thrill.

As this is prime silly season, chance are this is all nonsense and the status quo will remain!
