What part of the satellite system do you not understand ? of course it will work if you are in the footprint of the transmitting satellites. direct or dish will work in Venice Ca but no way in italy c band will work in europe but only on geostationary european satellites ie those in the air over europe. best bet for us tv in europe is streaming over the net i watch cbs abc espn and hbo on my tvu player

No, it will not work. American is NTSC format, and Europe is PAL. American TV does not broadcast to Italy, and you cant pick it up with a normal antenna.

The closet Italy has is SKY, which broadcasts lots of American shows, and channels like discovery and MTV.
