Well now, that is the question of the year...... or years. No, I am afraid that people are not smart enough to make their own decisions for themselves so they need the media to make their decisions for them. It is very unfortunate for us as a nation.

i'm sure you don't think your the only one.i agree that many people believe what they see on tv or in the newspaper but there are also just as many of us that understand that we are being lied to or told a slanted view of others who may or may not know themselves but tell us what they want us to believe.

It may be we learned it from the Europeans and Asians.  Liberal Europe twice in one century failed to take action against militaristic threats from Germany.  That "all you need is love" attitude resulted in two conflagerations like the world has never seen before.  There was the war to end all wars (WWI) and then of course a quarter century later World War II.  In their spare time this last century they found the time to turn a blind eye to the killing going on in Europe in Serbia.  I quite honestly never expected the "enlightened" europeans to let atrocities like Serbia occur in the same century as the holocaust.  If we Americans are sleeping we've learned our lesson from across the big pond.
