Will Americans use less gasoline if the TV Networks improve what they broadcast on TV?

I mean if TV programing and better quality tv programs were on TV people would spend more time at home watching TV instead out driving and wasting gas.

This happened in the 1950's and 60's everybody would stay home when something exciting was on TV, the streets were bare

People are already cutting back to the minimum (driving to work and groceries).

But there's only so much cutting back people want to do.  People live by the shores (beaches) so they will not cut back on that on the weekends.  And there are other things that people will just not cut back on.

TV has lost much of attention and control.  There much more avenue of entertainment than we had in the 50's and 60's.
