  1. you should be able to ride it. my aunt takes the Amtrak to travel. she also has a bad heart. it depends on the condition. the Amtrak isnt a roller coaster, so it should be ok.

    They can accommodate wheel chairs for those who are not ambulatory as well.

  5. As far as I know, there's no heath policy.  

    For your reference, I understand that if a passenger complains of a major health problem while on a train, the Amtrak conductor will radio ahead to the next community and ask that an ambulance be waiting at a station, or if closer, at a major road intersection.  There's some emergency gear on board the trains, I believe, but if there's an emergency you want to be treated by a doctor, not by a conductor or a train attendant.

    The bottom line always is "Is this a smart thing to do?  What would my doctor advise?"  If the answer is that you shouldn't do the trip, don't!
