Maria was cute and innocent before she won Wimbledon. She's changed since then... I think many people noticed..

Will Ana change after Roland Garros?

She said in an interview that she won't change, if she does or acting weird, someone has to pinch her.

No rude answers. Thanks.

  1. ana wont change, i am sure of it

for me masha was never cute and innocent, she was just an ambitious, rude, little daddy's girl to me and she will always to be like that

i have heard ana's interviews and she will continue to be the best female tennis player

i was happy to know that ana was the one who replaced the so called great grunting maria sharapova from the no.1 position...

my apology if i sound rude...

  2. Maria was cute and innocent? Before her first slam? Wow. I surely must have overlooked that one. As always the cold hearted, selfish, self absorbed, vain ******, has illustrated one sort of behavior/presence to me.

Ana even said after her win, she didnt want "to change", for she has seen it happen to others. I sure hope she doesnt. For she is truly genuine, has kind words about others,, and far more beautiful then some other player lol.

  3. well,as one other said previous, not all champs have necessarily changed their personalities. aside from those mentioned,we lest to forget the unabashed graciousness of steffi, chris and tracy austin and then sanchez-vicario,amelie mauresmo and kim clijsters. they all remained pretty much the same delightful, humble people they were when they began. and i don't really see anything that would lead me to believe ana would either. she might indeed become a better player and she will most likely realise her place as a player but i don't think her personality will change. usually, the kind of egotists we tend to witness in champs,is really already instilled even before they start winning just it never gets exposed. remember all the hype generated over maria the two years prior to she winning wimby? i'm sure that bloated her ego a bit. and serena she was always quite the arrogant really.

  4. I think she will.  All of the top women have eventually become more aggressive in their attitude.  I think it partially comes from all the pressure that the press is putting on them.  Maria was 17 in 2005 when everyone kept asking her if she's just a one-slam wonder, so her change in attitude is understandable.

Look at the former #1's.  They all eventually created an attitude towards other players.  Even Davenport, Hingis, and Seles (who I think were the sweetest players on the tour) have changed.  I think its part of their mental game.  Ana will want to change simply because she wants the other players to feel the pressure of having to play against the top-ranked player instead of just a friendly girl.

    ***EDIT***

SJ, none of the tennis champions you have named kept the "delightful" personalities.  Steffi was completely unapproachable and was hardly warm and friendly.  Neither was Mauresmo, Sanchez-Vicario, Evert, Navratilova, Jean King, Capriati, Henin and Clijsters.  They all dictated their press conferences and felt that as #1 players they should have more say into how the tour will be run, as well as pretty much felt they were superior to their opponents.

As for the hype 2 years prior to Maria winning Wimbledon, that's simply not true.  In 2002 (2 years prior to winning) she played just one major tournament  and won her first title at the end of 2003.  But if you have any articles prior to 2004 about her, feel free to add a link.

  5. I don't think she will. Her and Maria.. they're different. Ana won't change.

  6. No, I don't think Ana will change.

She will continue to be a very good tennis player and an awsum role model for young female tennis players.

  7. Only the word CHANGE doesn't change. Ana could change into a better person and a better player. Most often, the top ranked player becomes arrogant which could be normal to many but some people did not become like one. I was already old enough when Sampras ruled the tennis world and he had been always humble. Davenport when she became number 1 was never arrogant. Ana could be the same pleasant personality that she has if she got that resolution. I hope that the media will not mess up with her.

  8. i hope not

  9. Ana will never ever change.....................................

    she is awesome..........

  10. I know she won't

I listened to about every interview out there of her,

and you can tell by simply looking at her that she has no intention of being rude or different,

I'm sure she's a great person at heart.

I mean she keeps claiming how blessed she is for all this, I doubt she'll change!
