Antonio Di Natale
The veteran striker has been the Capocannoniere for the last two seasons running, and is again a strong contender for the prestigious accolade.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306 is a versatile striker with lethal goal-scoring and playmaking abilities. The 34-year old has been at the core of Udinese’s unprecedented rise, and has been netting goals consistently for his club for a number
of years now.
The striker has scored 19 goals so far this season, just one short of leader http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029. With Udinese having scored 39 goals in the 28 games played so far this season, the veteran has contributed to more than half the goals
scored by his side.
The backbone of the team is a sublime combination of a master coach Francesco Guidolin, and a master striker in the form of Di Natale. The Zebrette boss was recently honoured with an accolade of the best coach of Serie A. It would
be no surprise to see them work together for another laurel in the form of a hat-trick of the Capocannoniere award for the Udinese striker, and mark a golden era in the history of the club.
Ibrahimovic may have a goal lead over the Zebrette forward, but it should be noted that the veteran has a lot of experience over the former, having scored 229 goals in the career so far. With just ten league games left until the
end of the season, the defending Champion has one key advantage over Ibra.
Unlike AC Milan, Udinese are not competing in the European competitions. While the Swede’s abilities and attention will be divided among the different tournaments, the Bianconeri forward will have more rest, and consequently more
juice in his legs to give his all in the game. On the other hand, the Abracadabra has an advantage over Di Natale, as the Rossoneri have six home games left in the league, while Udinese have only four of their last 10 Serie A games to be played at their home
stadium. With a competition so close, anything can tip the balance in the favour of one or the other.
The battle between the two titans is one with a history, as it was De Natale, who dethroned Ibra to occupy the Capocannoniere, and this year’s campaign could be Ibra’s way for payback.
Failure to take the title from the Italian will mean that De Natale will join the likes of the legendary http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Platini and Giuseppe Signori, to win the award for the highest Italian goal scorer three times.
Di Natale and Ibra may have taken the lead, but the Capocannoniere this season is by no means a two-horse race. There are other Gladiators in the arena, and are ready to pounce on the first opportunity to outrun their competitors.
There is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-c10837 has also exhibited a rare ability in front of the goal, and has held the newly promoted Atalanta together.
