Will Apple ever beat Microsoft in the distant future?

Personally, I think so. Recently Apple has offered a great deal to college students. They sell them a macbook but the student also gets a free ipod touch (300$) and a free hp printer (100$) i think that students will become accustomed to the macbook and continue to use it later in life.
