Will Ash ever get to have a face to face pokemon battle with Giovanni?

Question

You ever notice how Ash has never had a pokemon battle with Giovanni(the head of team rocket)?, but in the pokemon red, blue and yellow games Ash actually does get to batlle Giovanni to end team rocket.

And also in the show when Ash was going to the Viridian City gym and was going to challenge Giovanni for the Earthbadge, Giovanni couldnt be there to battle him because he had to take care of some buisness so he hired Jesse and James to battle Ash, but Giovanni did battle Gary and gary almost beat him except for the fact that he used Mewtwo as a last resort.

But sometime in the Anime when Ash actually does stop team rocket for good, how will hw defeat Giovanni?, because he has a Mewtwo?, and Ash's pokemon are no match for Mewtwo, so how would he win that battle?, would Ash have to get Mew just like he did in the 1st movie, and will Ash have to use Mew in his final showdown with Giovanni?

Im just saying that it's kind of wierd that Ash beats him in most of the games but he never fights him in the Anime.

Actually, to correct that other guy--Red is the same character as Ash.  To deny that would be ignoring all the obvious hints.  In the game, Blue is the grandson of Professor Oak---which would be Gary in the anime.  Blue/Gary is the rival of Red, and is always a few steps ahead of him, just like in the anime, in which he is called Ash.  The characters even look the same.  Just like Blue and Gary do.  It makes sense that they wouldn't call Ash and Gary  Red and Blue in the anime because "Red" and "Blue" were default titles meant to match the games they were in respectively.  So yeah, they're the same.  But to answer your question, it makes sense that Ash would have to fight Giovanni in the games because that's what the game needs...challenges.  The anime is different because it puts a new twist on Ash's story, so it doesn't follow the game story to the T.  Besides, if it did follow the game story exactly...we would always know what is coming...what fun would that be?   :)

You know, the person in the games is Red not Ash. He's the Character from the Manga not Ash from the Anime.

yeah.. playing in those pokemon games isn't ash but you.

i'd love to watch pokemon but only about those serious fights ash have not these everyday series where he goes in his adventures.

and i think giovanni's more of a collector (and user) than a pokemon battler
