We dont know how the 3 year old will cope with older horses,we know Authorised goes on the ground, pace maker so things should have fallen into place..As has been mentioned the Derby is a race a horse is trained to peak at that time, its also a rough race which can take a lot out of a horse...Suppose depends which G Washington turns up...Still hard to see what will beat it but dont like backing short odds...

  1. I think authorized won the derby in the style of a good winner and looked in no trouble through out , not convinced about the temperament of GW although brilliant on his day he was well rusty last time out and i think the 3 yo  will beat him well today.....

wrong Andrew beaten by superior tactician and better ground very shrewd mr stoute !!!

  2. George Washington will almost certainly not run. I do not believe, as good as he is, the 3 year old Authorise will beat all the older horses over a shorter distance.

Myself, if G.W. is a non runner, will be backing Notnowcato.

Notnowcato wins at 7-1  must be worth the ten points!!!!

  3. I hope that he can, it has been too long since we had a decent British trained Derby winner go on and do something - in fact I think Lammtarra was the last one!

I'm going to Sandown tomorrow and really hope they run G.W.  I can't wait, if both horses turn up in the peak of their form it will be the race of the season.
