Will BestBuy install XP on a new laptop instead of Vista?

I need to buy a new laptop, but for work purposes I need XP instead of Vista. Most of the laptops they sell have Vista loaded. What can I do?

    I personally think that you have all the right to require it,,, The main problem is if you choose a machine with an OEM MS specific system.. In that circumstance you must get what they give you...

    That is why,,, it is all a Microsoft big game!  

  3. If the laptop has Vista business then you have XP upgrade rights which can be exercised on your behalf by the manufacturer (who can install XP on the computer).

    Usually it's only available on laptops targeted to business customers (things like the Dell Latitude and Toshiba Tecra) which typically aren't displayed among the consumer junk in stores like that.

  4. I believe they will do it, you would have to buy XP from them and pay an installation fee.

  5. Think Ubuntu....
