all 30 teams will still play 82 games, they'll just be exhibition. the other 29 teams will fight for 2nd place. (everyone remembers the first loser, right?) and the other remaining "places" for draft purposes in 2009.

defense and goaltending- Kolzig is a stop gap measure at best, He can help develop a young goalie and thats about hit.  I don't think Tampa has that young up and coming goalie to develop.

i'll give the new ownsers credit for putting together what looks like will be a very exciting team to watch, but they could end up being the Phoenix Suns of hockey, if you know what i mean.

TBL, Fleury wasn't nearly "unproven" by the time he took the ice this postseason...And, all the offense we had, and all the firepower....and what did we leave the Mellon without?

That's right...Lord Stanley. Watch the games, look at tape...our defense was FAR too soft in the middle, and we couldn't clear the puck...Enjoy. =)

Tampa probably will not even win their division, or even make the playoffs, that remains to be seen yet.

Pens Rawk - By far the funniest comment I have heard on this site in a LONG time. Do you not remember how the Pens did a few years ago? They brought in a defenseman here and there (Gill, Sydor) but they mainly bolstered there OFFENSE with Crosby/Malkin/Hossa/Staal. That seemed to work out for them, eh? The Pens ALSO had a very young and unproven goalie in the pipes for the postseason, backed up a career back-up goalie.

Well, they have done a lot to improve but they have yet to adress the real issue. Defense. They don't have a goalie and they have no true defenders...

You can't be too sure on who's going to win the Stanley Cup before the season has even started yet. Anything can happen and yes the Lightning have done very well since the end of the 2007-2008 NHL campaign but you never know what will happen to their team. Lecavalier , Stamkos and St.Louis could all get injuries. Nobody knows yet so you have to wait and see how they perform and if there are any injuries.

I have to admit that the Tampa Bay Lightning have done very well so far with free agency and the draft though!
