Will Bobby Abreu of the New York Yankees be signed at the end of the season?

There is talk about how he will be a free agent, where will he go. He wants to stay in New York, but will they want him? He is having an outstanding season, leading the team in RBI (78) and has 15 Homers (He had 16 in 2007) so he is ahead of pace. I hope he is resigned. What do you think?

  1. i like Abreu a lot and hes a great player but no hes gettin old and they got nady for this specific reason so they would have an empty right field when they let abreu go

  2. Well, I really do hope he is resigned... He is important to the Yankees.  Based on the fact that he has as many homers this year so far which was almost the amount of his total last year, shows he's improved.  I don't want him to become a free agent... I would miss him too much!

  3. Sadly, it is not likely. With Nady now a yankee and Matsui and Damon possibly at full strength they wont have a need for him. He said he wants to come back though so you never know!

  4. There's going to be a lot of free agency in New York, Abreu and Mussina among them. Both have had phenomenal seasons and are making strong cases to be signed.

I have no clue what will happen, though. I like Bobby. I want him to stay. But I'm just not sure.

  5. Well, you can always use Abreu at DH, with Posada behind the plate and not resigning Pudge right?

And to answer your question, yes he should be resigned.

  6. yes he is, but you sign people because of what there going to do, not what they have done. I say let go of him and put nady in right.

  7. I think they will want him.

  8. I do not believe so. The Yankees are about to unload $84 million in free agents next season including Bobby Abreu, Jason Giambi, Carl Pavano, and a few others. My suspicion is that Xavier Nady or Hideki Matsui will be in RF next season.
