  1. We can but hope.  To stand a chance we need Labour out completely and a free choice over Lisbon.


  2. It could be a "final straw" moment; but he wouldn't actually go until the party conference in the autumn.

  3. I am positively sure Brown will not survive the next general elections. Until then, probably nothing can force him out, regardless how many by-elections he loses.

    Brown's inner-party rivals know the next elections will be a massacre. None of them will risk to replace Brown now and then suffer an electoral defeat which will finish him off as well. No, they will wait until after the elections, then dump Brown for Miliband and hope to gain some profile in a few opposition years under a PM Cameron.
