Question:

Will Cali ever lose one of its Cup races?

California is the worst track on the circuit in my opinion, and the racing backs that up.

With tracks like Kentucky and Iowa, could we see in the future NASCAR taking a race away fom Cali? Maybe give one back to Darlington that should have never been taken away.

  1. I wish. I'd like to see Nashville or Kentucky.

Nashville in place of Cali and Kentucky in place of Darlington.

  2. I'd like to see it back to darlington.  That won't happen though.  NASCAR is going Hollywood and they need to be close.

  3. Calif needs a race a week end before baseball season starts, its stupid putting Calif inthe chase as it will be the only track that looks stupid without a sell out, and 99% of the people out here do not even know about Nascar or could care less about it, butthey will channel hope it on the remote..Yes the track sucks, and I know Gillian the big gal at the track, she has great ideas, Nascar, IRL, DP Rolex Nationwide or trucks the same weekend, she needs to make everyone expand their calendars, hey the more racing and speed the better for me..I;d say give Kentucky and Iowa races, and Yes Give Darlington back her day the Southern 500 and Labor Day, s***w the chase bring back tradition.

  4. I agree with you. I hate this track. It's a crappy race. I'd love for The Southern 500 to be back on Labor Day weekend. It would be awesome. And I would love for California to lose it's other date for Iowa Speedway. They already have Michigan Speedway, they don't need another spitting image of that place.

  5. there was a "track smack" bit about the new schedule last week and in it they noted that in one of kyle's interviews, he echoed what many others have for some time - the cup series should visit each track only once. given that's probably not going to happen, i'd like to see the second california race given to vegas, and as was suggested above, put it at the end of the chase. of course, with fontana being an isc track, and vegas being an smi track, don't expect it to happen without some other shifts being made as well.

  6. I think if the new Fall date next year doesn't sell more tickets they will lose that race. But they will still race there in the Spring. And yes, I agree Cali is boring and the Southern 500 should return to Darlington.

  7. Answered a similar question already, so I'll leave you with the short version:  no.  Politics brought the 2nd race there; stupidity will prevent it from being taken away.

Take the second Cali and give it back to Darlington.  While they're at it, they can take one of Michifornia's races and bring in Kentucky, Nashville, etc.

  8. Cal. is a ISC track if you think that they will ever loose a race you are sadly mistaken.

i agree its a boring race track and the Roush drivers always seem to run strong.  so i would love to see it loose at least one race for a second Vegas race.

  9. Will they lose a race date, probably not anytime soon. Should they yes to one if not both. Nascar could have so many more markets if they cut out two races a year at some tracks. Heck they could have 50+ tracks easy, some they would visit every other year. Could even then put Rockingham and North Wilksboro back in play. Some tracks deserve two dates a year.....Daytona is a biggie that comes to mind. The Allstar race I think should "float" around. Being at Lowe's for 3 points races and the Allstar race is a lot of racing for one track in a year. Pocono is another track that comes to mind do we really need two races there a year? ( I like Pocono but 1000 miles there in 5 weeks is lots more than needed) Michigan is another, and I like that track too.
