  1. It was the Tories that started all the Irish problems throughout history and would inflame any peace talks.

  2. There is a chance, for sure,

But then again, the terrorists on both sides have gotten fat off the Labour government these past few years and it's hard to see them reverting to old ways- especially with the hand of Europe so strongly in Ireland. Borders are becoming less and less important these days and Sinn Fein have finally the political recognition they desired.

It is certainly true that the IRA made this happen for Sinn Fein but by the same token a return to open combat would destroy the party's reputation and leave everyone back to square one

Besides- Cameron's not the problem; the worst problem in Northern Ireland was Ian Paisley, and he's gone now (thank Christ)

  3. Certainly.

  4. What makes you think Cameron has ANY interest in Ireland (north or south).

  5. No. The folks on the hill are too well paid (expenses too) to allow anyone to damage their gravy train. As for the IRA they are riddled with informers and are a spent force. Even the man who cleaned Adams' ar$e (Denis Donalson) was an informer as was Stakeknife and his driver.

    The IRA are now British.

  6. Dont forget it was the tories started the peace process, altho TB claimed the kudos.

  7. The government in the uk had little to do with starting or developing the peace process. If anything, successive uk governments have firmly stood in the way of a negotiated settlement (remember Thatcher).  The main thrust for peace came from within the IRA itself, and several key figures in Ireland.

So I imagine that no, a change in govt in the uk will have little effect.

Also, why do you refer to the IRA as radicals?? They are/were a politically motivated group fighting a foreign occupying military (their view, like it or not), not exactly radicals. The term is used too much these days, just read about Muqtada Al Sadir in the media.

  8. No

  9. No but it will good to have a decent right wing government rather than the communist c**p of Gordon Brown
