Last year's winner of the Women's British Open is entitled to try qualifying for the Open at St Andrews this July, but is she going to give it a shot?

Sadly for the suffragettes, it seems Matthews isn't interested. "I really don't see the point," said Matthew, now in Singapore for the HSBC Women's Champions event. "You've got to be realistic - we can't hit it as far and can't compete distance-wise." She's entitled to try to qualify - anybody finishing in the top five at any of the women's majors can enter regional qualifying, but no-one has tried yet.
