Will Cesc Fabregas reunite with Lionel Messi at Barcelona
The most recent development in the ‘Fabregas saga’ reveals that the Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has claimed that the club will not be selling Cesc Fabregas.
He further added that he also he hadn’t had a conversation about that yet with the player. It was widely speculated that after a thorough talk the coach and the skipper of the Gunners had settled their differences and were on the same page; leaving most of the matters in the hands for the time. Though in Fabregas’ case that is till the World Cup ends.
But just recently the man responsible for the North Londoners has stated that the star will not be involved in any transfers or deals. Not only that but he hasn’t discussed that with the players yet.
Whatever news may come out of Gunners camp excitement seems to be spiking at Camp Nou where fans and Barcelona football club members are eagerly waiting for the return of their player who are without a doubt certain that the transfer is on the verge of happening.
Fabregas made his switch from the Catalans to Arsenal in the clubs Golden years during which they were also deemed as ‘the Invincible’. He was 16 years old back then and was under the constant shadow of the then emerging star Iniesta and Xavi along with a star studded team.
At Arsenal the star was bred up and matured, showing the world his skills and in the process gaining world recognition. Now the star wants to return to the Spanish giants who under the coaching of Pep Guardiola have acquired the La Liga title and then went on to the finals of Champions League. Arsenal on the other hand have this long famine of silverware, their last coming in the 2005 FA Cup.
The 23 year old captain of Arsenal has claimed that he wants to return to Camp Nou and a lot of players including Lionel Messi and his team mates from Spain like Xavu, Iniesta and Puyol and Pique have already endorsed that. However the Gunners have turned down a £30 million offer by Barca and instead are demanding at least £60 million if the deal was ever put on table.
While talking to media Wenger stated, “I don’t need to talk about Cesc. He has a deal with Arsenal and we don’t want to sell him. I’ve spoken with Fabregas many times – as with all the players in the World Cup – but never about his future.”
Wenger has also ruled out possible swapping deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic (which Barca staked as rumours) and Yaya Toure’s trabsfer. Wenger instead told that he preferred Abou Diaby in midfield.
The money is certainly not an issue for the Catalans as they are about to make a £70 million move for Liverpool forward Fernando Torres this summer sources have told.
The new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, has the plan of pairing up the Spanish striker with his Spanish counter part and recently acquired striker David Villa from Valencia.
Though Toress who is 26 now, had an injury amidst season but despite that the person who scored the winning goal for Spain in Euro 2008 has great promises. Chelsea and Manchester City are also among the ones who are ready get their hands on the player from Anfield.
But in awake this might actually reduce chances of bringing Cesc Fabregas to the club which doesn’t lack luster. Torres who has experience playing the Spanish League, having played for Atletico Madrid told that it was the only club he would want to join if he was to make a transfer in Spain.
With Rafael Benitez’s departure from Liverpool other players in the team are also having similar thoughts. Yossi Benayoun has made his transfer to Chelsea and Javier Macherano and Steven Gerrard are on the brink too.
