Will Chandigarh be the next city to see Skyscrapers in its Skyline?

Will it see contruction of skyscrapers, like Delhi is experienceing now?

Will Ludhiana also see this occur in its Skyline?

As lot of open space is available, around both the Cities, vertical growth is not expected in near future. When the main Business District will become congested, then only you can expect the multistoried  Skyscrapers to appear, due to paucity of space. As such Chandigarh is really a well planned City. The skyscrapers may spoil its present beauty. Similarly the Ludhiana, which is mainly based on textile Industry, it expand, by spreading all around.

No, Chandigarh is not likely to have Skyscrapers in its Skyline !

Neither, the suburb of Chandigarh, i.e. Mohali and Panchkula !!

However, suburb of Tri-City 'CHANDIGARH - MOHALI - PANCHKULA' may not have Skyscrapers, but suburb like ZIRAKPUR, DERABASSI, may have in due course of time.

Similarly, suburb of Ludhiana may have tall building.

All depends on Punjabi NRI's Direct Foreign Investment in the region to have their identity. Count down has already begin.

Skyscrapers are a proud contruction of any city & they certainly do not ruin the look of any city . If that wasn't true then why would Malaysia show Petronas towers in each of its promotion . Same goes true for HK , Singapore , US , europe ....

Chandigarh will never have skyscrapers because of two reasons :

1. Its too near to Chandimandir air base , thus can not have too high buildings .

2. Chandigarh architects are ardant followers of Le corbusier who ( 50 years ago ) didn't visualize any need for tall buildings , because he never estimated city to grow beyond 01 million population.

Ludhiana will certainly have very tall skyscrapers because its being made with new thoughts & new generation.
