  1. If you look at their records, you 'll see that they are getting more and more gold each Olympics. Not like the US only excelling in swimming and the track field ( which they will have to try triple hard now as Jamaica proves to be better in running now ). The US relied on Phelps alone to get the 8 gold and unless they can have Phelps or another one like him in the next games, they 'll have more to worry right now. China take part in most of the games and they excel in most of them. I do have high hope that the Chinese can continue to be leading in the Olympics to come.

  2. It's a possibility.  They have been increasing in gold medal count steadily ever since 1996, and an example of an increased interest in sports is how there have been more Chinese hurdlers inspired by Liu Xiang these Olympic Games.  They may not do as well in 2012 as in 2008, but they should be able to do at least just as well in future Olympics as they did in these Olympics, and at least win the most gold medals in future Olympics.

Seeing how the gap between the U.S. and China in 2004 was 3 gold medals, I personally believed China would've won the most gold medals in 2008 even if it hadn't been in Beijing, as long as it wasn't in the U.S.

  3. i think so.  they are steadily rising as a sports power.

  4. No, because this olympics was fixed from the beginning so China would have the advantage from several sides.  Anyone who is a threat was reviewed for any possible way to get them thrown out.   And how many more people have to die before we decide Bejing was a bad idea?

  5. I don't think so, seeing as they had the Home ground advantage this time.

Then again, I don't think the USA will do better then they did in Atlanta 1996 until they host it again.

  6. That's an unequivocal yes!

    Americans are sore losers.

  7. I think they may well do so... its common for countries to do well the olympics following their home olympics, as all the infrastructure and training is in place and has a long term impact....

  8. probably they have like 2 billion people in that country..im sure better athletes will come out of that 2 billion group

  9. If you look at China's Olympic history, you can see that they have been steady getting more and more medals for each Olympics. They might not get as many medals in the next Olympics as this one, but I won't be surprised if they get the most golds again.

  10. I don't really think so. This is really good for them. -_-

  11. Why not. They have tons of athletes, wonderful training facilities and plenty of money to back them. I think it is entirely possible that they continue to excel.

  12. no way, they have a target on their head now and without home field "advantage", they won't do as good.
