  1. No.

  2. wat does Georgia and Russia have anything to do with China?

  3. Sorry my answer is so long...

I have proposed this to a few people and the general concensus is that they could, but why would they...I mean outside of historical claims to the territory and some sort of symbolic victory over NATO, Taiwan offers relatively little economic advantage. By taking Taiwan, essentially violating the sovereignty of a Western-backed state, they risk damaging the "nice China" image being put forth in the Olympics and elsewhere.

Taiwan is different from Georgia in a few ways. First, though Russia and China both have historical claims to their territories, Russia's is much more recent, and there was a jusitification for intervention that involved the prevention of genocide (true or not, doesn't matter). I don't see Beijing being able to jusitify such a move unless it orchestrated a coup in Taipei. Second, Taiwan is frankly much more well-off and beneficial to the US than Georgia in my opinion.

No, China is content with conquesting central and south Asia through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. They do not need military or political conquest to expand their sphere of influence. By contributing to infrastructure in countries like Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, etc. China is fostering trade in these resource-rich nations and creating a new Silk Road. They are also helping develop Pakistan and probably Iran, allowing access to the trades of the Indian Ocean and even the Persian Gulf.

These are the real problems the next president will have to face, though I would not discount the possibility of China taking Taiwan back in a symbolic gesture of global dominance over US and EU influence.

  4. No

  5. No, not now, but it is in their plans in the future.

  6. well taiwan right now is still struggling to be on their own

there probably will be a fight

since china is trying to claim taiwan

but i think that taiwan will become it's own

    in the end

  7. Taiwan is a major commerical por and Georgia is a recently liberated section of Russia that doesn't hold the same value to the global economy. So no china would invade.

  8. I really doubt it

  9. China can't because there's a big body of water inbetween the two countries and China doesn't have enough naval transport capacity. Plus, we'd nuke them if they did.
