  1. you can make a spay to spray on your plants its the same thing i do with my ferrets ,you can mix 1 part Tabasco sauce with 3 parts water and they wont chew on the plants and i had a chinchilla one and it keep chewing my chords so you might wont to unplug everything in that room when you let him run around , and you can take it for walks but you should get a leash for chinchillas or it will escape they have them at pets mart you can also train it to walk sometimes but it takes years

  2. Most house plants are toxic to chinchillas. They also chew on everything. You will need to chinchilla proof the room before you let them run. They can flat jump about 3 feet. Putting anything above the floor also at risk. And no, you can not take them outside for a walk. Chinchillas are far too fast, and if it were to get loose, you'd probably never be able to catch it. Not only that, but there's dogs outside that might attack and kill the chinchilla with ease. The chinchilla would aso stop to chew on all the plants outside. Grass is bad for chinchillas, and will more than likely be treated with chemicals. So if it where to eat the grass, it could possibly die. Chinchillas do not like to be held. They do not like to be petted either. So if you're wanting this sort of pet, I'd suggest looking at getting something else.

  3. I found the information, on link below, to be very interesting and am sure you, definitely, will.  As far as houseplants are concerned, I would try to put them out of reach as so many are toxic.  It seems chinchilla can jump quite high but, probably, not as my cats could when in their prime (am thinking 1.8 metres) - a breeder should be able to answer any queries you have.  Hope you can find a way to get your new pet tired before you go to bed so you won't, also, become nocturnal...
