Will Chlorine ruin my Surfboard?

I am a beginner at surfing and wanted to practice sitting on my board in my pool, will the chlorine from the pool ruin my surfboard?

  1. No, the ocean is salt water, which is of course...a form of chlorine.  I wouldn't put a west suit in the pool since the chemical form of pool chlorine is different from ocean salt and may damage the rubber.


  2. if u forget to wax the board it may suck a lot, but other wise it shouldn't be too bad. what ever u do don't use a nice wetsuit in the pool, cause it kills the suit

No problem at all.  While you are there, practice turning your board.  Hold one rail and lean back to lift your nose out of the water.  At the same time, move your feet back and forth for balance, and use your free hand to paddle the water.  The farther back you lean the faster you pivot your board.   It will help board handling when you get in the ocean.
