Marin Cilic put up his hand as a serious contender in the Grand Slams by reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open 2010. But if he’s to win the title at a major, the Croat will need to learn how to get through the earlier rounds without expending so much energy – three five-set matches out of four leading into the semi against Andy Murray left him visibly drained in his loss there. That said, Cilic’s forehand is a massive weapon but whether it’s enough to take him all the way to a Grand Slam title when the likes of Murray, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal (knees permitting) are at their best is the burning question.
