Will Cung Le ask Wanderlei Silva for a rematch after UFC 139? – UFC Special
The Vietnamese mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Cung Le had a devastating fight against Brazilian Wanderlei Silva at UFC 139. The event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was the momentous day
when the 35-year old Brazilian fighter made a huge impact on Cung Le’s career and his facial features. Silva won the bout in the second round through a technical knockout (TKO) after he exploded on Le with his knee strikes and punches.
In the last minute of the bout, Silva was on top of Le after the Vietnamese fighter was unable to defend himself against Silva’s onslaught. Silva gave some hard right punches, cross punches and jabs, which sent Le crashing with
the cage. The bout was ended once the referee interfered as Le could not continue any further with the fight. Le’s nose was broken, facial features were terrible and his body was stained with blood and sweat.
What Le experienced was brutal, raw power by Silva. Le may have never faced this sort of aggression in his career. He was hopeful to get a win but what Silva did to Le was what makes UFC famous across the globe. It has been observed
that fighters challenge their opponents for a rematch, an occurrence we have seen in the past. It is also a sign of determinacy and courage for the losing fighter to lay down the challenge.
At UFC 139, Mauricio Rua lost to Dan Henderson and after forty-eight hours of their fight, Rua said he would face Henderson for a rematch. Keeping in mind the way Silva pounded over Le, one can be sure that Le would be seeking
revenge for what Silva did to him at UFC 139.
If Le has the courage to step back into the octagon cage, then he must also keep this fact in the back of his head that Silva would be as aggressive as he was at UFC 139. For Le, scoring a win over Silva would be the objective
for a rematch. Le would be thinking to punch and strike his way in the match so that Silva bleeds, sweats and feels the pain just the way Le experienced it when he was in the cage with Silva.
The UFC fans would be hoping for a Silva-Le rematch for they witnessed a straight out brawl, something that the UFC and MMA fans are always looking for in an event. No one is sure if Le would throw out a challenge to Silva, but
whenever it happens, the rematch would also be a worth watching bout. Silva could accept such kind of a challenge from Le but it would be Le who would still be feeling intimidated by Silva. Le would know that if Silva can break his nose once, he could surely
do it again.
