Heard that TiVo is suing DISH and has an injunction. DISH may be held in contempt of court if they do not shut down the DVR's/

  1. Not anytime soon. I have been following this for a little nit. Right now Dish has launched a counter suit saying that what they were using did not infringe on the patents. I do not see how they can win this but because they have filed a suit, TiVo can not demand them to cease and desist. So for now they are still alive. The way I think it will happen is Dish will keep postponing the court dates until they have their own real technology that works and then they will settle for millions out of court and carry on with their version of TiVo. It is a joke because Dish network just restructured their corporation and sold off Echostar from Echosphere, Dish is only owned by Echostar not Echoshpere. So they can let good old Echostar take a few hits without the stock in Echosphere being affected. Crazy corporate worlds we live in.

No nothing is going to happen to the Dish DVR's for a while. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
