From 2005 onward he has been inconsistent in points and hes what 35 or something now and only getting older?

2005- 1 win-19th in points

2006- 1 win-5th in points

2007- 0 wins-16th in points

2008 hes currently 2nd

Seems to have 1 up year followed by 1 down year

He hasnt been consistent or winning as much as his first 5 years in cup. This is his best chance ever to get a championship and if he doesnt I dont see it coming for him do you? This is a for real question be honest and dont just call me names I gave the facts and I need opinions now

  1. 3 letters -

  2. I am not a dale jr fan but he is with a different team now so the past stats don't really mean nothing.  I don't really see dale jr winning many more races in his career, but consistency wins championships.  I am a die hard kenseth fan and he won the cup in 2003 with one win so anything is possible.  With the new points system however with wins being 10 point bonus, i don't really see dale winning the championship.  Wins are worth more now than they used to be.

  3. I really think that Jr will be able to show how good of a driver that he really is now that he's in top nouch equipment.  Jr could have had a good year in 07 if it wasnt for all the mechanical failures that he had.  05 was the year that they took the Eury's away from him in the infamous DEI shuffle to try and imporve Waltrip.

  4. Sure looks that way.

  5. I agree with Chris G!!!!!

    Go Dale Jr.!!!

    JUNIOR NATION!!!

  6. hes got plenty of yrs ahead,, and he will fare better,, dont even put him in the shades of KYLE PITTIFUL,,, he hasnt done c**p for a decade and a half,, good business man,, average racer,,

jr will over come the slump,, good racers always do,,,

    consistancy will come with maturity,,,

  7. Well by my calculations Kyle Petty has been in 823 races and has 8 wins for a winning percentage of 0.0097 while Dale Jr has 19 wins in 310 career races for a 0.061 Winning percentage so i would say right now he is about 6 times as good as Kyle Petty. I do not think he will win a championship but i believe he has another 10 to 15 race wins in his career left. His problem has always been the same pressure and expectations first he had to live up to his father (who could do that ?) now it's the fan's millions of them wondering whats wrong well last time i looked winning a championship is not easy and almost impossible with the amount of distractions he has in his everyday life.

  8. He should be fine now that he has reliable cars to drive.  I don't think he or his fans are nearly as worried about it as you are.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  9. No because now hes got the equipment to back up his driving ability.

  10. No, and you posted a huge hint of why...

    2008 2nd points

Junior has a great team, he's doing great.  The past, lets see several yrs Kyle Petty did good to qualify to get into a race.

hmm, that would also being saying (from what you've posted), Junior has done better than Kyle from day one....

  11. I dont think so it seems like everytime theres 30 to go jr. is back in the pack and then he some how claws his way through to get a top ten finsh. Last year he could have made it in the chase if he didntl get points takin away from him and all those blown eninges. so I think that now that he's with hendrick and with how well he's been running he will be even more consestent now.

  12. yes, and I can't wait!!!  That will be a hard one for Jr Nation

    to swallow, wont it?

  13. Have you noticed that as the season wears on Jr isn't doing quite as well.   the last few weeks Gordon and Johnson are improving and moving up in the standings, and Jr is actually falling farther behind KyBusch.    Personally I think at the beginning of the year Hendrick was all about Making Jr their top driver, thinking he'd dominate the season, and since he really hasn't, maybe they are putting their money and resources back to where it should have been from the beginning....the two Hendrick drivers that have won multiple cups.   I give Jr another 4 or 5  weeks in that number 2 spot  before Edwards or Johnson pass him up.   by the time the chase begins Gordon will competing for a spot with him.    as much as I love Mark Martin, and don't really care for JR, I say Jr will be the next Mark Martin.

  14. he's doing just as planned

  15. possibly i wouldnt be suprised

  16. He hasn,t been good because dei has been letting him down...People question his age?How old is the 24?He,s no spring chicken either...Kyle Petty has had his share of wins...Even his last name would not get him a cup...His dad drove from 1958 to 1992...Thats a long career...No he,s not a kyle p yet...

  17. I really don't see that happening, he is no way like Kyle Petty, Petty is too full of himself, and really got backed off of racing once Adam was killed, had you noticed, he went down hill from there.......

My opinion, he never was a good driver, not like dad was.

I think Jr will come out of it and bounce back....he is just in a bad slump, but now that his hero, Mark Martin will be running on the team for the next 4 years, full time, beginning with the 2009 season, see Mark has always been Jr's hero, they are good friends, and I think Mark will make the team difference, way to go Mark......so glad he is leaving Ms DEI and her hatefulness..

    go JR and Mark  2009.....

Mark said he will continue for the next 4 yrs, full racing schedule beginning in 2009, and looks forward to being team mate of Jr, Gordon, they  are all friends...

yea for 2009,.......Jr and Mark will rule the roost next year guys, look out...Mark Martin is back....and Jr will stand up and take notice and be the Cup Champion in 2009.

wouldn't it be the greatest if Mark would be the 2009 Cup winner, man, he has earned it.....

  18. as a Jr. fan I don't think he will become a kyle petty because he has good team mates a great one coming next year a great car and the will to do better for his new boss it has showed this season but back to team mates they need to help him out if they find him to be faster than them like in Daytona for instance. Jimmy Johnson and Gordon should have not hung him out in the draft they should have been smart to push him up in the lead further and maybe then try to pass him instead of slowing him down in my opinion

  19. fraid not!Now that he's in a hendrick car he is going to be alot more consistant!look for him to be a threat for the championship!

  20. As a millionaire many times over, I doubt he gives it any thought. Many of his DNF's weren't his fault-DEI had a major engine gremlin for a long time.

  21. Yea...unless he steps it up and finishes better.

  22. Foolish human....lol...(j/k).....no...no..He has more power with Hendrick then with DEI with Mark Martin joining for the 2009 season it will be great! with four...Jeff Gordon Jimmy Johnson Mark Martin and him he has more power and will not become a foolish Kyle Petty (sorry kyel petty fans) who will not win anything.

Kyle Petty has not even MATCHED! his Father's legacy so it's just to say Dale Jr he will not even go less then 5th in the points and even if he does he still has 10 bonus points to guarenntee him a spot in the chase.

  23. I don't see the spark of a champion in his eyes.

I used to, but it's gone, and it has been for several years.

Unless he can find that passion that fuels a champion, I don't see it happening.

Kyle Petty is a bit much, though.

  24. well he was with DEI so lets just see what he can do at Hendrick and so far is the 2nd best driver on the circuit, not in wins but consistent wise so is he really having that bad of a year, most people just expect him to win everywhere, maybe that wont happen but h**l he didnt even make the chase last year, looks like he will this year
